W1649 W 1649 The Wavemeter Type W. 1649
is a dual purpose instrument.
It is intended primarily to be used as a sensitive and accurate wavemeter, the frequency of which can be
checked at any time by reference to a self-contained crystal oscillator.
Operation as a wavemeter covers
the band 155-255 Mc/s.
It can also be used as a Signal Generator of calibrated frequency, a coaxial plug marked “Output”
is fitted on the panel for this purpose.
The frequency range available is 140-240 Mc/s.
Power supply is normally obtained from self contained
batteries.
An adaptor unit Ref. No. 1OKB/6205 is available for converting the wavemeter for mains operation. Both
L.T. and H.T. are then derived from this supply unit, which fits in the space normally occupied by the
H.T. battery.
The power unit is designed to operate from the following supply voltages
(1) 80 volt 400-2000 c/s
(2) 110 volt 60 c/s
(3) 115 volt 400-2000 c/s
(4) 180 volt 500 c/s
(5) 230 volt 50 or 400 c/s |
